Affirming Anglican Catholicism is about affirming tradition "in its fullest sense"; not as a "lifeboat in which to escape the present", but as a "crucible in which the experiment pf Christian life is consistently tested". So says Rowan Williams, the recently enthroned Archbishop of Canterbury. Founded in 1990 in the Church of England, Affirming Anglican Catholicism has established itself as an active and growing presence in both Great Britain and North America. Archbishop Williams has supported and addressed meetings in this country and Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold is the American patron.
