Explore Your Spirituality at Christ Church

Our vision at Christ Church is to be a spirituality center - a community which enables its members to grow in their relationship to Jesus Christ, which supports them on their journeys of faith and which equips them for their ministries in the world. No matter where you are on your own spiritual journey, Christ Church offers a safe and affirming place to ask questions and explore what you believe. We invite you to become a member of this community.

Christianity holds more depth of riches in spirituality than most of us have had the chance to experience. At Christ Church, we offer you opportunities to learn about how to explore your own spirituality. Each month we will offer a retreat, workshop or quiet day - some type of "soul feeding" apart from our regular worship. From weekly Christian Education to the unfolding drama of the liturgical year, there are many occasions for learning and experiencing God in prayer and worship. Come explore the richness of Christianity with us.

One important source of spiritual strength for us is found in the liturgy of the Episcopal Church Liturgy is a Greek word used to describe the form of worship. It comes from the words laos for people and ergon for work. Liturgy, then, is both the work of the people, what we do when we gather together, and the work for the people, what God does for us as we are gathered in worship.

On this website, we have some tools to help us all in our spiritual growth. The Stations of the Cross is a devotion on the passion of Our Lord that developed in the 12th century. It is a series of prayers and mediations on the events of Our Lord’s trial and journey to the Cross and was popularized by the Franciscan Order We offer these Stations at the church every Friday in Lent and we have a link to an on-line version for your meditations at any time. We also have a link to a page devoted to teaching about Anglican Prayer Beads, a form of contemplative prayer and an online article about praying the Jesus Prayer, a devotional classic from the Eastern Orthodox tradition.

(Christ Church is grateful to Fr. Frank Logue and King of Peace Episcopal Church in Kingsland, GA for allowing us to link to these pages featured on the church’s website)

No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, you are welcome to come and take part in our own journey and to grow along with us. Join us for worship Sundays at 8:00 AM and at 10:30 AM and Wednesday at 6:00 PM to continue your journey of faith with us at Christ Church.
